Frequently Asked Questions
When did Julie’s friends start?
Julie’s Friends was established in 2022.
Who is Julie?
Julie was a beautiful Oriental Shorthair kitty who changed the lives of the founders of Julie’s Friends the day they met her. Julie was not adopted or fostered, but found in a dumpster and taken home to live the life she deserved. Tragically, Julie was diagnosed with cancer, which put an emotional and financial toll on Diego and Lisa that no one else should have to experience. After Julie passed, the Harrisons decided that even if they couldn’t spare other animal caregivers from the pain of treating or losing an animal with a fatal diagnosis, they could at least help to alleviate the high cost of medical care in such situations.
What kind of animals are eligible for help?
Julie’s Friends does not discriminate based on breed, size, or diagnosis. Any companion animal who needs non-basic, non-emergency medical care, such as treatment for heart disease or cancer is eligible.

My pet is a senior or is geriatric, can they receive financial aid?
Yes! We do not discriminate based on age, breed, or size. We believe in giving every pet a chance to survive their diagnosis no matter how serious as long as it is medically agreed upon that it is in the pet's best interest.
